Nuvu Insurance is strengthening its European underwriting operations with the appointment of Peter Schott as Director Property.
Schott begins his role on October 16 and will be responsible for the development and further expansion of Nuvu’s Property proposition.
With Schott’s arrival, Nuvu takes another step toward its ambition of further strengthening its position as a European MGA. Based in the Netherlands, he will lead the development of the Property portfolio, focusing on larger industrial and commercial risks.
Schott possesses extensive experience within the international insurance market and has a strong background in Property. He brings not only deep technical underwriting expertise but also significant experience in building and developing insurance portfolios.
Arjan Halma, Global Head of Nuvu Insurance, stated:
“In Peter, we have brought on board a highly experienced Property specialist who is an excellent fit for Nuvu’s ambitions. We are looking for more than just strong underwriters; we are seeking entrepreneurial professionals who want to help build our propositions from the ground up. Peter combines technical expertise, market knowledge, and an entrepreneurial spirit—making him the ideal person to lead the development of our Property business at Nuvu.”
The expansion into Property aligns with Nuvu’s broader growth strategy. Through its European platform, the MGA is incrementally building specialized underwriting capacity across various commercial insurance segments. Key to this approach are specialized expertise, direct lines of communication, speed, and close collaboration with brokers and insurance partners.
Schott about his move:
“The opportunity to build a property proposition from the ground up within an entrepreneurial organization really appeals to me. Nuvu combines the operational strength and ambition of a growing European MGA with an entrepreneurial and personal culture. I look forward to working with the team, brokers, and insurance partners to build a strong and sustainable property portfolio.”
