Nuvu Insurance is proud to announce the appointment of Remco Smaling. Joining the Nuvu team as of October 1, he brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance sector, with a strong specialization in Construction & Engineering.
Throughout his career, Remco has gained extensive experience across virtually the entire insurance value chain. His background spans engineering, claims adjusting, broking, underwriting, portfolio management, and business development. In his most recent role, he served as Senior Vice President, Business Development Leader for Construction & Engineering. Prior to that, he held various senior underwriting and management positions at leading firms within the insurance market.
A key aspect of Remco’s expertise lies in developing and building new insurance operations. On several occasions throughout his career, he has been instrumental in establishing new Construction & Engineering practices and building portfolios from the ground up. He combines deep technical knowledge with an entrepreneurial spirit, business development acumen, and a strong focus on sustainable, profitable growth.

With the addition of Remco to the team, Nuvu takes another step forward in expanding its European underwriting proposition. From the Netherlands, Nuvu develops specialized insurance solutions for the European market, with a strong focus on close collaboration with brokers and insurers.
