Regulatory status
Nuvu Insurance B.V. holds an authorisation from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (Autoriteit Financiële Markten or AFM) to act as a Managing General Agent (Gevolmachtigd Agent) for both private as well as corporate property & casualty insurance categories in a.o. the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain. The AFM licence number is 12050870. You can verify our status and permitted activities in the financial service providers register at www.afm.nl.
Nuvu Underwriting Europe, Lda. holds an authorization from the Portuguese Authority for the Supervision of Insurance and Pension Funds (Autoridade de Supervisão de Seguros e Fundos de Pensões or ASF) to act as an insurance agent for both Life and Non-Life insurance classes within the European Economic Area in those jurisdictions for which the appropriate regulatory notifications have been made. Role and the insurer
We act on behalf of various insurers under delegated authority. Within the limits of each insurer’s mandate, we may accept insurance risks, issue and amend policies, administer premiums and handle claims.
The insurer identified in your policy carries the insured risk and is responsible for the insurance cover. We do not carry that risk ourselves. Where more than one insurer participates, your policy identifies the participating insurers and their respective shares.
The intermediary and advice
In the service described here, we act for the insurer and do not provide you with a personal recommendation or a comparison of the whole insurance market. Your intermediary explains its own role, advice service and remuneration separately.
Remuneration and charges
For the activities delegated to us, we receive remuneration from the insurer consisting of premium based commission. Any applicable charges will be disclosed before you agree to the service. Your intermediary’s charges and remuneration are explained separately by that intermediary.
Ownership and conflicts of interest
Nuvu is part of the family-owned Dubois Holding. Potential conflicts arise from ownership or group distribution arrangements are managed through separation of underwriting and advice, independent escalation and remuneration controls. In case of a conflict of interest, the interests of Nuvu will be represented by the CEO of Nuvu. Unresolved conflicts relevant to your service are explained to you before we proceed.
